Prices

All prices are non-negotiable and are priced according to your specific design and size of cake.

Payment

A non-refundable deposit of £10 is required to secure your booking. Following your enquiry the quote is valid for 48 hours and paying the deposit secures both the price quoted and chosen date.

If a deposit is NOT paid within 48 hours your order will not be booked in and your quote will no longer be valid. Thereafter, the date will be made available on a first come, first served basis so I cannot guarantee that the date will still be available. For orders being placed at short notice (less than 10 days) payment will be required in full within 24 hours. I do not send reminders for deposits; it is your responsibility to pay this within the stated timescale to secure your booking.

The outstanding balance is required in full 7 days before your order is due to be collected. This is payable by bank transfer to the bank details provided by Kymmy’s Kitchen. Orders will not be started, or released, until full payment has been received.

A reminder will be sent when the balance is due, if the balance is not paid in full by the due date your order will be treated as a cancelation. (Please see below)

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your order, I reserve the right to keep any deposit paid to go towards covering admin and other costs.

To cancel an order, you will need to contact me in writing and the cancelation will take effect on the date the request is received.

If you postpone an event and require your cake at a later date I will endeavour to accommodate your request providing the date is available with myself, otherwise it will be treated as a cancelation (please see above.)

If you fail to pay the outstanding balance by the due date (I will always contact you to remind you that the balance is due) your order will be automatically cancelled and I reserve the right to keep any deposit paid to cover admin costs.

If you fail to respond to the email to finalise and confirm the details of your order it will be treated as a cancelation (please see above.)

Design

It is the reasonability of the customer to thoroughly read and check the details of the design and quote provided before agreeing to proceed. If you need to make any amendments this should be submitted by email as soon as possible.

I reserve the right to amend the design at any time if there are circumstances beyond my control (such as melting due to the weather) that may compromise the finish of the cake.

As all of my products are made individually, and by hand, there may be some variation from the design requested or the picture supplied.

Design Alterations

If you wish to alter or change your design I will strive to adjust this where possible but on occasion this may not be possible according to the nature of the changes required or the timescale given.

If the changes affect the cost, or if preparations have begun on the original design, I will advise of the adjustments to the remaining balance and this will need to be agreed to before alterations can take place.

Chocolate

If you have opted for a cake decorated with chocolate I cannot be held responsible for any melting of the cake once it has left my possession. I have no control over the environment or venue temperature and would recommend extreme caution if choosing a cake decorated with chocolate during the warmer months. E.g. May-September.

Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements

All of my products contain wheat, dairy, eggs and so on. Ingredients such as nuts can be removed from products but they are still used in my kitchen (along with other allergens) so I cannot guarantee that my products are completely free from them.

I do not currently offer special dietary requirement products such as, but not limited to, gluten free.

Non-Edible Items

Many products will contain a small amount of non-edible items (such as, but not limited to; support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, florist wire, cocktail sticks, lollipop sticks, floral tape etc) you will be advised about the placement of such items but it is your reasonability to ensure these items are removed by yourself/caterer/guests prior to consumption.

Collections

Collection is available for most items from my premises in Essex at the agreed upon time. I have a morning and an afternoon collection slot and I ask that collections are only carried out during these stated times. If you arrive to collect outside of these times I cannot guarantee that someone will be available to dispatch your order.

Damage

Cake decorations are very delicate items and I cannot be held liable for any damage caused to products once they have left my premises.

If any damage is caused to the cake after it has left my premises you can contact me and request a repair. The repair will be costed accordingly including any transport if necessary.

Portion Guide

My portion guide is an approximation only, the final number of servings will vary depending on how the cake is cut. I provide a cake gutting guide on my website to show how to get the greatest number of portions from your cake.

Best Before Dates

As my products are made of natural ingredients they do not have the extended shelf life of most supermarket products that contain additives and preventives. All products are baked to order to ensure it is fresh for the date of your event and I cannot guarantee the quality if consumed after the best before date stated.

Wedding Cakes

Wedding cakes are specifically for delivery only and only within the surrounding areas (Clacton, Frinton, Kirby, Thorpe, Weeley and Walton) I only take on cakes of 3 tiers or less (with the exception of additional dummy tiers) and do not work with fruit cakes. 
It is the customer's reasonability to ensure that arrangements are made for the cake table (e.g linen, cake stand, knife etc) and that these are all in place prior to arrival. Please ensure that a stable cake table is available.
Upon delivery and set-up someone will be required to sign the waiver stating they have seen the cake and take on full responsibility once I have left the premises. This can either be a member of the bridal party for example or a member of staff at the venue.

Complaints

Should you be unhappy with any aspect of your order please notify me upon receipt so that I am given the opportunity to rectify it. Refunds will not be given for change of mind.
